PARK(ing) DAY SUCCESS

Our little parklet was a great success! Joined by students of the Bloustein School of Planning, Rutgers Landscape Architecture students participated in PARKing Day, an annual worldwide event where artists, designers, and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks. Our park was met by passerby's who asked questions about the event, and our planting structures which were built by hand using wood palettes. Some people came in and sat with us, others walked by with intrigue. The more prominent this event, the more educated the public will become on issues concerning urban space. This event was fun and inspiring, but also a big marker in defining green spaces within cities.
