St. Croix USVI Praxis Studio 2013

As of Spring 2012 the Department of Landscape Architecture at Rutgers University launched its initiative to associate third year, fourth year and 2nd year graduate students in 3 different studios allowing students to chose a special topic of interest. This year we have 3 exciting new learning opportunities, the Praxis studios include:
Liberty State Park -Wetland Restoration Ecological Design
West 8-George Washington Bridge Light House- Urban Design
St. Croix-Cultural Community Design

The St. Croix Group spent 7 days in the island exploring different aspects of St. Croix. Some of the  elements include, learning about its identity, its significance through heritage, on going social issues, agricultural background, economical situation, and exploring ecological values of the island. The students most importantly, learned how St. Croix collectively impacts the overall scope of the U.S. Virigin Islands.

Here are some samples of my journal work.
